Three learnings from basketball lessons

I recently found an African-American basketball coach and signed up for a basketball course called "From Beginner to Quit"~ every Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock, there is a 75-minute private lesson. I've already had two classes, and currently, I have three takeaways:

  1. Stop trying to control it. Every time during the training, the coach said, I want a Renee without thinking. The more I try to control the ball, the more awkward my movements are; each time I let go of the control, I feel like the movements are in place.

  2. Be aggressive. The coach said that he has taught different children in Singapore, but in the education of Chinese children under 10 years old, there is no requirement for them to be aggressive in their training, and these Chinese children do not know what the Chinese translation of aggressive is. However, on the basketball court, you must be aggressive, this is the basic attitude.

  3. Dribbling is the most important thing. There are many basic skills in basketball that need to be trained: passing, defense, rebounding, shooting, dribbling past defenders, etc., but the most important one is still dribbling. Only by learning how to control the ball can you truly enjoy freedom on the court.
